Rescue Diver Certification Skills


Becoming a great diver involves learning a lot about your equipment, the environment, and the effects compressed air has on our bodies.  The open water diver course will begin to teach you these skills:

Emergency First Aid & CPR

 

Learn how to prevent and offer help.  You can never be too prepared and diving is no different. Many times scuba diving trips take place far offshore. Having the proper knowledge to assist in an emergency situation is crucial for Rescue Divers.

 

Different emergencies require a different type of response. In different situations, you may or may not be the most trained person onsite. Following a general standard will help ensure the best outcome. This course covers the basics about providing emergency care at the most crucial times while waiting for Emergency First Responders to arrive.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

​

  • Must submit medical questionnaire (some medical histories require prior doctor approval).

  • Before enrolling in the Rescue Diver course you must have previously completed the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver Course. 

  • Current Advanced Open Water Divers can enroll in the Rescue Diver Certification Course.

    • Advanced Open Water Divers must have completed at least 1 dive in last year​

  • All Rescue Divers are required to have approved Emergency CPR training.   

    • Emergency First Response Primary & Secondary Care Course is available as an add-on option to be completed along the Rescue Diver Course.

 

In addition to these mandatory requirements, you should be a strong swimmer and a confident scuba diver. Some medical histories will require doctor sign off.  Please review the medical questionnaire.​
