Our Mission

To coordinate and lead United States Military Veterans scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing trips and excursions to help the Veterans recover and reset from military stress and combat-related injuries.

Teach United States Military Veterans how to scuba dive, allowing them to learn a new skill and thereby assisting in their mental and physical recovery from military stress and combat-related injuries.

Coordinate connections between Veterans and successful individual mentors in various fields of expertise to assist in Veterans development of life plans.

Coordinate and lead underwater archeology missions including Veteran participation, with a focus on locating and recovering missing persons and artifacts from different wars.

Ocean Adventures
At Subsurface Veterans, we provide a truly unique experience to veterans looking to explore the world beneath the surface. With the guidance of a Navy Seal, they can dive and train with maximum excitement and safety as they learn from the best in the field.
We offer full-service, personalized trips with concierge service and PADI certifications if needed. Our adventures will give veterans a sense of comradeship and make them feel right at home as they experience the thrill of diving for the first time or take it to the next level.
An SSV dive is an up close and personal experience with the highest level of expertise. Not only do veterans get to explore the depths of the ocean but also to take part in excursions with a real and important purpose.
GUIDED DIVES

SCUBA INSTRUCTION
Subsurface Veterans' scuba instruction courses are designed for divers of all levels, from beginner to advanced. With minimal classroom time and most of the training time spent diving, our courses help veterans get as extensive an experience of the wonders of the underwater world as possible. Our experienced Navy SEAL instructor guides them through their dives, ensuring that their safety is always our top priority.
We have an extensive selection of courses for our vets to choose from. Our excursions often require multiple courses to complete, so we provide a proactive and efficient way to get them fully prepared and certified.

Meet Jeff Samuel
Owner, Subsurface Veterans
Jeff Samuel’s extraordinary skill as a dive supervisor and instructor was developed over 20 years of distinguished service as a US Navy SEAL. During those years, Jeff supervised the most risk-adverse dives in the US Military with SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team 2, earned a designation as Master Training Specialist while instructing and supervising complex SDV and mixed gas dives, and was deployed on hundreds of combat missions while assigned to the Naval Special Warfare Development Group.
It is rare to encounter a veteran with the kind of storied career Jeff had. The US Navy awarded his service with the NAVY CROSS, 4 Bronze Stars with Valor, 2 Purple Hearts, a Joint Commendation with Valor, and 5 Navy Achievement medals.
